Follow-up to Tuesday's post about David D. Wood's burial site
Why am I not surprised? This had been tickling the back of my brain until this morning, AFTER this post about the family burial site. Dr. Wood composed an anthem (a choral setting of a sacred text) using the beautiful passage from Revelations which appears on his tomb slab. It was performed at a posthumous musical service dedicated to his compositions in May 1920 at the Chapel of the Mediator in West Philadelphia (51st and Spruce Streets). Mike Krasulski included a service pamphlet in his archival treasure, the philadelphiastudies.org. Infinite thanks, Mike. Again and again.
