Happy 200th Anniversary St. Stephen's!
On this day in 1823, St. Stephen’s was officially consecrated as St. Stephen’s Protestant Episcopal Church. Rev. John Henry Hobart, Bishop of New York, preached the consecration of the new church, kicking off 200 years of service and community. This year will be full of milestones and anniversaries, so we’ll be celebrating all year long. St. Stephen’s—and Philadelphia—have witnessed many milestones throughout these two centuries. Stay tuned as we look back on our history throughout this year.
